Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Tim Holtz Exclusive Stamp and Stencil Set

Hi Everyone! I'm so happy you stopped by because I can't wait to show you the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Tim Holtz exclusive stamp and stencil set. I had so much fun creating with it and I hope you enjoy seeing what I put together using this amazing set.

For my first project, I created a home decor piece. I love the wintry look of blue and silver, it's one of my favorites. Being that I live in Arizona, by this time of the year, I'm ready for all things frosty.

Cut five of the Tim Holtz Ornate Frame #2. Cut three out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock and two out of white chipboard. Putting these together will create the shaker window with snow.

Reserve one of the center pieces of the window that was cut from chipboard. This will be used to create the background winter scene. Ink the edges of the piece with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a soft winter sky with a mini ink blending tool.

Next, stamp three of the trees from the set that has no leaves onto the chipboard piece with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide.

Add leaves to the trees, by stamping on the top portion of the tree stamp that has leaves. Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, line up the leaves with the branches and trunk of the first tree that was stamped. Pick up the stamp with the stamping tool, ink only the top leaf portion of the stamp with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide and stamp the image onto the branches. Set this aside to completely dry.

While the background is drying, stamp the two deer from the set in Black Soot Archival Ink and fussy cut them out using a pair of Tim Holtz Mini Snips. Adhere them to the base of the trees in the background.

Begin assembling the window pieces together to create the area for snow in the winter scene. Adhere four of the frames together, starting with the chipboard frames first. Adhere them one on top of the other. Adhere the two card stock frames together and adhere them to the chipboard pieced frame. Brush the fifth card stock piece with Ranger Multi Matte Medium and dust with Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter. Set these pieces aside to completely dry.

Create another panel by using the background stamp from the stamp set. Start at the bottom of the piece of card stock and using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, stamp on the image with VersaMark embossing ink. Sprinkle Ranger Silver Embossing Powder over the embossing ink and heat with a heat tool. Allow to dry. Line the background stamp above the previously stamped area using the stamp platform and repeat the process until the entire piece is covered.

'
Distress the edges with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and ink the edges with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint. Set aside to completely dry.

For the next panel, create a simple background using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks. Smudge the ink pads onto a craft sheet and spritz with water. Spritz the piece of card stock with water and begin picking up ink by swiping the card stock through the water and ink mixture. Dry with a heat tool.

Add the star portion of the stencil to the background with Broken China Distress Ink by applying it through the stencil with a mini ink blending tool. Allow it to completely dry.

To create a glistening effect, brush the panel lightly with Ranger Multi Matte Medium and immediately dust it with Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter. Set aside to completely dry.

Here is a close-up of the of the clear rock candy glitter. It really makes the panel glisten. Isn't it gorgeous!

Create another panel by cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock and paint the edges with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint. Adhere the blue star stenciled panel on top. Next, adhere the silver embossed panel on top and of that and adhere the 4 layer frame in the center. Adhere the background piece with the deer and trees to the bottom inside of the frames and add some glossy accents to the bottom of the scene.

Sprinkle a good amount of clear rock candy glitter over the glossy accents. Cut a piece of acetate just a little bit larger than the frame window. Adhere the acetate to the top frame. Allow to dry. Adhere the last frame, the one that has glitter, on top of the acetate.

To complete the piece, add a shabby bow colored with Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. (To see how I create my shabby bows check out the tutorial here.) Add a small and medium Tim Holtz Pinecone with a silver loop pin to the center of the bow. Cut a few snowflakes from the Tim Holtz Mini Paper Snowflakes Thinlits die set and color with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Brush the snowflakes lightly with Ranger Multi Matte Medium and dust with Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter. Create the sentiment by stamping it onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black card stock with VersaMark Embossing Ink, dust with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder and set with heat tool. Cut excess card stock away from sentiment and adhere to bottom of the ornate frame.

For my second project, I create a card. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love snowmen. At Christmas time there's a snowman in almost every corner of my home, so this stamp is close to my heart. I just love it!

Stencil top portion of a card panel with the stars from the stencil set with white embossing paste. Allow to completely dry.

Adhere patterned paper to the bottom portion of the card panel.

Wrap burlap twine around the center portion of the card panel.

To create the snow scene:

  1. Stamp the snowman onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock. Line the second largest Tim Holtz Stitched Ovals over the snowman, so its in the center of the oval, and cut out.
  2. Stamp a second snowman onto masking paper and fussy cut out.
  3. Lay the snowman cut from masking paper over the stamped snowman in the center of the oval.
  4. Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, stamp on the tree with no leaves in several different areas around the snowman in Black Soot Archival Ink.
  5. Line the tree with leaves stamp over the tree with only branches and pick up stamp with Stamp Platform.
  6. Ink the leaves only with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide and stamp onto the tree branches.
  7. Remove mask over the snowman and color the letters with Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Markers by alternating the colors with each letter.
  8. Cut another oval from the Tim Holtz Stitched Ovals die set using the largest oval out of Simon Says Stamp Black card stock.  Adhere the snowman scene in the center using 3D foam tape.

To complete the card, attach a two Tim Holtz Snowflake Adornments to the burlap twine on each side. Stamp sentiment onto Simon Says Stamp Black card stock with VersaMark Embossing Ink and sprinkle with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Set with heat tool and create banner edges on the sides. Attach sentiment to the bottom portion of the snowman scene with 3D foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created my two projects using the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Tim Holtz Stamp and Stencil Set. I know you will love this set because the possibilities are endless.
